Vomo's executive chef, Shane Avant, hails from New Zealand and is responsible for the daily changing menu that indulges, inspires and satisfies guests. Each day Shane sources the freshest available local and international seafood, meats and vegetables and combines them to create simple, memorable and tasty dishes, perfectly suited to the balmy Vomo climate. Shane and his team integrate Fijian flavours with international ingredients resulting in contemporary dishes that are light and full of natural flavour.
Vomo's sprawling vegetable gardens provide Shane with daily inspiration. These gardens are such an asset to the island as they allow his team to bring dishes to the table bursting with natural ripe taste. Under Shane's guidance his team have developed their creativity and their knowledge of international cuisines. Invaluable to their careers, these skills broaden their understanding and allow them to develop their culinary talent to become chefs capable of working in any kitchen the world over.
Some of Shane's professional accomplishments include: the National winner and Oceania winner of the Chaine des Rotissure Commis, and the runner up at the Paris World Final Chaine des Rotissure Commis.
Set right in the heart of the resort overlooking the main pool and out to the water, the Reef Restaurant is the main dining restaurant. The Reef's menu changes daily, with a la carte dining at each meal. The restaurant has several feature nights that showcase local produce with a fusion of traditional and contemporary cooking methods. On balmy evenings dining is held by candlelight around the main pool and you may find yourself dining at lunchtime under the trees on the beach. In the evening the Vomo Entertainment Group play a selection of Fijian and international music to enhance your dining experience. Special dietary requirements catered for and children are not forgotten; they have their own menu.
Adjacent to the Reef Restaurant you'll find Vomo's main bar, The Vuda Bar. An extensive wine and cocktail list combined with open-air seating creates an atmosphere ideal for relaxing with a drink or a snack at any time of the day or evening.
The Rocks Bar is located at the western tip of the island overlooking an expanse of fine white sand and across the water to Vomo Lailai. The Rocks is the island's ringside seat for enjoying a spectacular sunset, cocktail in hand. The Rocks is open each day between 5-7 PM/
Private Dining is a popular option on Vomo with the island having many secluded areas perfect for either an intimate table for two or for a larger group. Villa decks and on the beach are popular choices.
